Volunteer Policies

By volunteering at Hope Street Food Pantry, you are agreeing to the following policies.

  1. Attitude and Behavior: Volunteer commits to maintaining a polite, compassionate, and humble demeanor while interacting with clients, staff, and other volunteers. They understand the importance of respecting individuals who may come from different faiths, beliefs, backgrounds, and needs. All volunteers must read and sign the Civil Rights Agreement annually.
  2. Confidentiality: Volunteer agrees to uphold strict confidentiality regarding client information and other sensitive matters. They will not disclose any confidential information acquired during their service.
  3. Putting Others First: Volunteer commits to putting the needs of clients and the Pantry above personal interests. They will prioritize the well-being of those they serve.
  4. Representation of Hope Street: Volunteer understands that they are a representative of Hope Street while volunteering. They agree to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the Pantry’s values and maintains a positive image for the organization.
  5. Volunteer Responsibilities: Volunteer agrees to fulfill their assigned responsibilities to the best of their abilities, being punctual and reliable in their commitment to the Pantry.
  6. Liability Release: Volunteer understands and accepts that they are volunteering at their own risk and releases Hope Street and Hope Church from any liability arising from their volunteer service.
  7. Equal Opportunity Agency: All volunteers must read and sign civil rights training annually.
  8. Large Groups: Groups of 5+ must contact the Director or Manager before signing up at 704-584-9073 ext. 1 or email food@hopestreetfoodpantry.com.
  9. School Groups: All school groups must have an adult present the entire volunteer time.
  10. Age Requirement: Volunteers must be a minimum of 10 years old unless prior approval has been received by the Director or Manager.
  11. Appropriate Shoes and Clothing: Volunteers must always wear closed toe shoes. Volunteers are encouraged to dress appropriately for the season. Not all volunteer positions will be indoors.

Southview Rec Center

1720 Vilma St, Charlotte, NC 28208

4th Wednesday: 9:30-10:15 AM

West Charlotte Rec Center

2401 Kendall Dr, Charlotte, NC 28216

4th Wednesday: 10:45-11:30 AM

There will be a max of 4 families served per vehicle during our Tuesday and Thursday distributions.
